P-STCP SLAB / 2019

P-STCP SLAB is an ongoing procedural image experiment and meditation on the synthesis of visual artifacts from various photographic technologies. The current iteration presents a distributed assortment of textures (marble, OLED, dust, sebum) produced by a multi-step process that leverages computational photography, high-resolution digital scans, ink on acetate, contact prints, custom batch editing software, and the t-SNE machine learning algorithm.

With each continuation, I examine a new operation, in order to surface the inherent traces of the medium. As the process develops, preceding artifacts begin to compress and merge. Former iterations have existed as cyanotypes, inkjet posters, risograph prints, and micro-animations.
